News on the political front: In an ugly twist, Michael Franks, a candidate for HD 132 State Representative, sent mailers depicting his opponent Ann Hodge as a “pig.” He chose to deploy this tactic during National Women’s History Month (March 2014). Justin Perryman, a fellow candidate and Lieutenant Colonel in the Texas Army National Guard, denounced Franks’ tactics as shocking and undeserved.
